(Central Illinois)
Studio 9 is a "Project Studio" in that it is all in one big room,
a 16 x 32' living room, behind tall scenic front windows.
It's a really nice place to record.
GEAR:
Studio 9 is a very basic set up with two digital interfaces into an intel PC.
All effects and processing are software plugins, except for the dbx compression.
Studio time is a very modest $25/hr.
Cost estimates available according to type of session.

ON LOCATION LIVE RECORDING
I can record live up to twenty-four individual tracks at once for later remixing. This is usually done by tapping into your own live mixing console. You'll hardly know I'm there. Also, I have been recording live to a Sony Mini-Digital Video camera with surprisingly good results. The sound is of the "What-you-heard-is-what-you-get" variety...no overdubbing or correcting, but I have done a few DVD recordings that are good enough to be used as band demos.
See my VIDEO page to check out a few *cam only* clips.
We can also combine live video and multi-tracked instruments for an improved sound.
A Sample or Two of combined live cam and multi-track sound.
So, if you need a recording of your newest song, a demo for your band, a CD to distribute to record companies, or you want to just sing along with your favorite karaoke tracks, give me a call. If you are more interested in an "authentic" (big time, expensive) studio environment, I can also help you find that in central Illinois. But I am positive that once you get past the fact that you are recording in a living room, you will be amazed at what can be done here on a budget.
THE LIVE SOUND SYSTEMS

We have three Bose L1 Model IIs w/T1 Tonematch Engines, and an L1 Compact for 3- 6 piece bands performing in small to medium venues.
The sound is incredible. It is entirely a new approach to live sound. The systems are positioned behind the players, your instrument and vocal is connected to it, so it becomes your instrument amp and your vocal PA and monitors.
Once you warm up to it you will find that the pleasure of playing through it is unlike anything you have ever experienced.
Set up example: The Sheerin's at Hill Prairie Winery.

Generally, you can run the controls yourself. In this case they preferred that I do it, hence the mixer out front.
